<div class="MsoNormal">
A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of
family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his
disciples smiled ‘and asked. ‘Why do people shout in anger at each other?’<br />
<br />
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, ‘Because we lose our calm, we
shout.’ ‘But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you?
You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.’ asked the
saint.<br />
<br />
Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.<br />
Finally the saint explained, . ‘When two people are angry at each other, their
hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to
hear each other.<br />
<br />
The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other
to cover that great distance.<br />
<br />
What happens when two people fall in love? They don’t shout at each other but
talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is
either nonexistent or very small…’ The saint continued, ‘When they love each
other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper ‘n they get even
closer to each other in their love.<br />
<br />
Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other ‘and that’s
all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.’<br />
<br />
He looked at his disciples ‘and said. ‘So when you argue do not let your hearts
get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will
come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to
return.’</div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.<br />
<br />
One day a small opening appeared.<br />
<br />
He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its
body through that little hole.<br />
<br />
Then it seemed to stop making any progress.<br />
<br />
It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly.<br />
<br />
He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.<br />
<br />
The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small,
shriveled wings.<br />
<br />
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any
moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body,
which would contract in time. Neither happened!<br />
<br />
In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a
swollen body and shriveled wings.<br />
<br />
It never was able to fly.<br />
<br />
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the
restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through
the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly
into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its
freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our
lives.<br />
<br />
If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would
cripple us.<br />
<br />
We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly !!!<br />
<br />
Lessons to be learnt : When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Nothing
in life is always smooth-sailing nor goes according to plan, hardships are
there to mould us into stronger individuals. Life is constantly about
overcoming challenges, it's only through tough times that we became more.</div>

A Businessman was deep in debt and could not see any way out.<br />
A man died, when he realized it, he saw God coming closer with a suitcase in
his hand.<br />
<br />
- God said: Alright son its time to go. - Surprised the man responded:
Now? So soon?<br />
<br />
I had a lot of plans... - I'm sorry but its time to go. - What do you have in
that suitcase? The man asked.<br />
<br />
- God answered: Your belongings. - My belongings? You mean my things, my
clothes, my money?<br />
<br />
- God answered: Those things were not yours they belonged to the earth. - Is it
my memories? The man asked.<br />
<br />
- God answered: those never belonged to you they belonged to Time - Is it my
talents?<br />
<br />
- God answered: those were never yours they belonged to the circumstances. - Is
it my friends and family?<br />
<br />
- God answered: I'm sorry they were never yours they belonged to the path. - Is
it my wife and son?<br />
<br />
- God answered: They were never yours the belonged to your heart. - Is it my
body?<br />
<br />
- God answered: that was never yours it belonged to the dust. - Is it my soul?<br />
<br />
- God answered: No that is mine. Full of fear, the man took the suitcase from
god and opened it just to find out the suitcase was empty. - With a tear coming
down his cheek the man said: I never had anything???<br />
<br />
- God answered: that is correct, every moment you lived were only for yours.
You never lived for somebody who is not related to you in any way.<br />
<br />
Moral: Do something for other people who cant return the favour back to you.
Life is just a moment. A moment that belongs to you. - Live Now - Live your
life - Don't forget to be happy and make others happy, as that is the only
thing that matters. - Material things and everything else that you fought for
stay here. - YOU CAN'T TAKE ANYTHING.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
A man’s daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father.<br />
<br />
When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped
up on two pillows.<br />
<br />
An empty chair sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow had
been informed of his visit. “I guess you were expecting me,” he said. ‘No, who
are you?” said the father.<br />
<br />
The minister told him his name and then remarked, “I saw the empty chair and I
figured you knew I was going to show up.”<br />
<br />
“Oh yeah, the chair,” said the bedridden man. “Would you mind closing the
door?” Puzzled, the minister shut the door.<br />
<br />
“I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter,” said the man.<br />
<br />
“But all of my life I have never known how to pray.” “At church I used to hear
the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head.”<br />
<br />
“I abandoned any attempt at prayer,” the old man continued, “until one day four
years ago, my best friend said to me, “Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter
of having a conversation with God.”<br />
<br />
“Here is what I suggest,” he said. “Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair
in front of you, and in faith see God on the chair.<br />
<br />
It’s not spooky because he promised, ‘I will be with you always’.”<br />
“Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now.”<br />
<br />
“So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every
day. I’m careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd
either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm.”<br />
<br />
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to
continue on the journey.<br />
<br />
Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and then returned to the
church.<br />
<br />
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had
died that afternoon.<br />
<br />
Did he die in peace?” he asked.<br />
<br />
Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside,
told me how much he loved me, and kissed me on the cheek.<br />
When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead.<br />
There was something strange about his death.<br />
<br />
Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the
chair beside the bed.<br />
<br />
What do you make of that?”<br />
<br />
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, “I wish we could all go like
that.”</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Tahoma","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><span style="background: white;">An ancient adage
says: a man must be the master of his own world if he has to rule the entire
world. All men-of-wisdom recognize self-control as the first step towards
self-realization.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="background: white;">WHY MUST ONE BRING
THE SENSES UNDER CONTROL ?<br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">tani sarvani samyamya yukta asita mat-parah</span><br />
<span class="textexposedshow">vase hi yasyendriyani tasya prajna pratisthita</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">Having restrained them all, he should sit
steadfast, intent on Me; his wisdom is steady whose sense are under control.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">EXPLANATION : Since the sense organs are thus the
saboteurs in the kingdom of the spirit who bring the disastrous downfall of the
empire of the soul, Arjuna is warned here that as a seeker of Self-perfection
he should constantly struggle to control all his sense organs and their mad
lustful wanderings in their respective fields. Modern psychology certainly
would look down with a protruding squint eye upon this Geeta theory because,
according to Freud and others, sensuousness is instinctive in man and to curb
it is to suppress the sensuousness in man.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">According to the West, to control is to suppress,
and on science of mental life can accept that suppression is psychologically
healthy. But the Vedic theory is not pointing to any mental suppression at all
they are only advising an inward blossoming, an inner growth and development,
by which its earlier fields of enjoyments through the senses drop out of the
fuller grown man who has come to the perception of a newer field of ampler joys
and more satisfying bliss.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">The idea is very well brought out here in the
stanza when Lord Krishna, as though in the very same breath, repeats both the
negative and the positive aspects of the technique of self-development. He
advises not only a withdrawal from the unhealthy gutters of sensuousness but
also gives the healthy method of doing so by explaining to us the positive
technique in Self-perfection. Through a constant attempt at focusing our
attention "One me, the Supreme," he advises the disciples to sit
steady.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">In this simple-looking statement of half-a-stanza,
Geeta explains the entire technique of Self-development. Immortal impulses and
unethical instincts that bring own a man to the level of a mere brute are the
result of endless lives spent among sensuous objects during the infinite number
of different manifestations through which the embodied soul--the ego--in each
one of us had previously passed. The thick coating of mental impressions that
we gathered thus in our pilgrimage is humanly impossible for one solitary
individual to erase or transcend in one's own little lifetime. Naturally, this
is the despair of all the promoters of ethics, the teachers of morality and the
masters of spirituality. The rishis of old, in vivid experience, have
discovered for themselves a technique by which all these mental tendencies can
be eradicated. To expose the mind to the quite atmosphere of meditation upon
the All-perfect Being is to heal the mind of its ulcers. By this process, he
who has come to gain a complete mastery over his sense organs is called the one
who is `steadfast in wisdom'.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="textexposedshow">The concealed suggestion in the stanza is quite
obvious: nobody who with excessive force controls his indriyas by the sheer
strength of his will and sense of abstinence has any chance of flowering
himself into full-blown spiritual beauty. When the sense organs have, of their
own accord, come back tamely to lie surrendered at the feet of one who has come
to rediscover the Infinite Perfection in himself, he is called `a Man of
Perfection'. Neither has he ruined his instruments of cognition nor has he
closed down the arches of knowledge in him. A Perfect One is he whose sway over
the animal in him is so complete that the inner Satan has become, for the sage
in him, a tame cannibal to run errands and serve him faithfully.</span></span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p> </o:p>One of my fondest memories as a
child is going by the river and sitting idly on the bank. There I would enjoy
the peace and quiet, watch the water rush downstream, and listen to the chirps
of birds and the rustling of leaves in the trees.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
I would also watch the bamboo

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
When I think about the bamboo

resilience comes to mind. When used in reference to a person this word means
the ability to readily recover from shock, depression or any other situation
that stretches the limits of a person’s emotions.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Have you ever felt like you are
about to snap Have you ever felt like you are at your breaking point
Thankfully, you have survived the experience to live to talk about it. During
the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions that threatened your health.
You felt emotionally drained, mentally exhausted and you most likely endured
unpleasant physical symptoms.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Life is a mixture of good times
and bad times, happy moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are
experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that take you close to
your breaking point then bend but don’t break. Try your best not to let the
situation get the best of you.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A measure of hope will take you
through the unpleasant ordeal. With hope for a better tomorrow or a better
situation, things may not be as bad as they seem to be. The unpleasant ordeal
may be easier to deal with if the end result is worth having.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
If the going gets tough and you
are at your breaking point, show resilience like the bamboo tree, bend, but
don’t break!</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
In a small village there lived a
boy called Leo. He was a small, slim kid, and he lived forever in fear because
some boys from a neighboring village would harass poor Leo and try to have fun
at his expense.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
One day, a young wizard was
passing by the village and saw Leo being made fun of. When the other boys left,
the wizard went over to Leo and gave him a beautiful lion’s tail, along with a
small tie that allowed Leo to hang the lion’s tail from his belt.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
-“It’s a magic tail. When the
person wearing it acts bravely, he or she will turn into a ferocious lion.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Having seen the young wizard’s
powers some days earlier during his act, Leo didn’t doubt his words, and from
that time on he wore the lion’s tail hanging from his belt, hoping that the
horrible kids would turn up so he could teach them a good lesson.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
But when the boys came along, Leo
was scared and he tried to run away. However, they soon caught him up and
surrounded him. The usual jokes and pushing started, then Leo felt the lion’s
tail hanging from his belt. Then, summoning up all his courage, Leo tensed his
body, made two fists, and looked up, fixedly into the eyes of each of the boys,
and with all the calmness and ferocity in the World, he promised that if they
didn’t leave him alone at that instant one of them - even if it were only one –
would regret it for ever… today, tomorrow, and any other day. He kept looking
them in the eye, with his hardest expression, ready to do what he had promised.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Leo felt goosebumps all over.
This must be the sign that he was turning into a lion, because the looks on the
boys’ faces were definitely changing. They all took a step back, looked at each
other, and finally ran off. Leo wanted to take off after them and give them a
good beating with his new body, but when he tried to move, he felt his legs
were short and just normal, so he had to abandon the idea.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Not far off, the wizard observed,
smiling. He ran over to Leo. Leo was very happy, though a bit disappointed that
his new lion body had lasted only a short time, and he hadn’t managed to fight
them.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
-“You wouldn’t have been able to
anyway,”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
the wizard told him,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
-“no one fights with lions,
because simply from seeing them, and knowing how brave and ferocious they are,
everyone runs away. Have you ever seen a lion fighting?"</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
It was true. Leo couldn’t
remember ever having seen a lion fighting. Leo became filled with thought,
looking at the lion’s tail. And he understood everything. There had been no
magic, no transformation, no nothing. What happened was that a good friend had
shown him that bullies and other cowardly animals never dare to confront a
truly brave boy.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
There was once a leopard in the
jungle; and a very nocturnal leopard he was too. He could hardly sleep at night
and, lying on a branch of his magnificent tree, he spent his time watching what
was happening in the forest at night. This is how he came to learn that there
was a thief in that forest. He would watch the thief go out every night with
empty hands and return loaded up with his stolen loot. Sometimes the thief had
nabbed the senior monkey’s bananas, other times he had filched the lion’s wig,
or pinched the zebra’s stripes. One night he even snuck home with the big
elephant’s false tusk, which the elephant had been secretly wearing for quite
some time.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
However, as the leopard was a
very quiet sort of cat, who lived at the margin of everything, he didn’t want
to say anything to anyone. He didn’t see it as his business, and, if truth were
told, he rather enjoyed discovering these little secrets.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
And so, thanks to the stealthy
thief, quite a stir was being created in the world of the animals: the elephant
felt ridiculous without his false tusk, and the zebra now looked like a white
donkey, not to mention the lion who, now as bald as a lioness had lost all
respect. Most of the other animals were in some similar position too. They were
furious, confused or ridiculous, but the leopard lay quietly in his tree, each
night enjoying the thief’s escapades.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
However, one night the thief went
on vacation, and after having waited a long while for him to appear, the
leopard grew tired and decided to sleep for a while. When he woke up he found
himself in a place very different from his usual tree, he was floating on the
water of a small lake inside a cave, and around him he could see all those
objects which, night after night, he had seen being stolen… the thief had cut
down his tree and stolen his entire home along with the leopard himself! Well
this was the last straw, so the leopard, taking advantage of the thief not
being there, ran out and went straight to see the other animals to tell them
where the thief had hidden all their things...</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
They all praised the leopard for
having discovered the thief and his hideout, and allowing them to recover their
possessions. In the end, the animal who lost most from all this was the
leopard, who couldn’t replant his magnificent tree and had to make do with a
much inferior tree located in a very boring site... and he regretted having not
been concerned at the problems of the other animals, now seeing that in the
long run those very problems had become his own.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Moral:- Indifference to the problems of
others can allow those problems to grow until they end up being problems to
ourselves.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Once upon a time there was a
good, cheerful wizard who loved to use his magic to make everyone happy. He was
also quite an unusual wizard because he was allergic to a load of different
foods. He had to be very careful what he put in his mouth. He was always being
invited to parties, and he would always gladly accept, because he always had
new tricks and games to try out.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
In the beginning, everyone was
considerate about his allergies, and they took special care to prepare food
that he would be able to eat safely. But as time went on, people tired of
having to prepare special foods for him. They began to forget his dietary requirements.
After having enjoyed his magic, people would leave him by himself, and the
parties became less enjoyable. Sometimes they didn't even bother to tell him
what was in the food, and, more than once, he ended up with a black tongue, a
red face, and a very itchy body.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Angry at such lack of
consideration, he waved his wand and cast a huffy spell that gave everyone a
special allergy. Some became allergic to birds or frogs, others to fruit or
meat, some to raindrops... And so, each person had to take special care from
then on. Whenever people met up to eat or have a party, they ended up having to
go to the doctor.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Ending parties in this way was
such a pain that, gradually, people began making an effort to learn what each
other’s allergies were. Now they would prepare everything carefully, so that
they could have a good time together without getting sick. Visits to the doctor
decreased, and in less than a year, life in town returned to normal, filled
with parties and celebrations, always attended by the wizard, who gave life and
joy to the occasion. Even better, now he could stay and enjoy the whole party.
No one would have suspected that, in that town, every single person was
strongly allergic to something.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Some time later, without anyone
knowing, the wizard waved his wand again and undid the spell. The people had
learned well how to be considerate towards others, and how they could enjoy
each others' company even better just by making a little effort to adapt to
each and every person.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Moral :- With very little effort,
and some tact, you can be considerate to, and include everyone.</div>

One night a snake while it was looking for food, entered a
carpenter’s workshop.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
The carpenter, who was a rather untidy man, had left several of his tools lying
on the floor. One of them was a saw.<br />
<br />
As the snake went round and round the shop, he climbed over the saw, which gave
him a little cut.<br />
<br />
At once, thinking that the saw was attacking him, he turned around and bit it
so hard that his mouth started to bleed.<br />
<br />
This made him very angry. He attacked again and again until the saw was covered
with blood and seemed to be dead.<br />
<br />
Dying from his own wounds, the snake decided to give one last hard bite then
turned away. The next morning the carpenter was surprised to find a dead snake
on his doorstep.<br />

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous
country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country.<br />
<br />
When he was back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful,
because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road
that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to
cover every road of the entire country with leather. Definitely, this would
need thousands of animals’ skin, and would cost a huge amount of money.<br />
<br />
Then one of his wise servant dared himself to tell the king, “Why do you have
to spend that unnecessary amount of money ? Why don't you just cut a little
piece of leather to cover your feet?”<br />
<br />
The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a “shoe”
for himself.<br />

There is actually a valuable lesson of life in this story: “To make this world
a happy place to live, you better change yourself - your heart; and not the
world.”</div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
Once a king called upon all of his wise men and asked them,
” Is there a mantra or suggestion which works in every situation, in every
circumstances, in every place and in every time. In every joy, every sorrow,
every defeat and every victory? One answer for all questions? Something which
can help me when none of you is available to advise me? Tell me is there any
mantra?”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
All the wise men were puzzled by the King’s question. They thought and thought.
After a lengthy discussion, an old man suggested something which appealed to
all of them. They went to the king and gave him something written on paper,
with a condition that the king was not to see it out of curiosity.<br />
<br />
Only in extreme danger, when the King finds himself alone and there seems to be
no way, only then he can see it. The King put the papers under his Diamond
ring.<br />
<br />
Some time later, the neighbors attacked the Kingdom. King and his army fought
bravely but lost the battle. The King had to flee on his horse. The enemies
were following him. getting closer and closer. Suddenly the King found himself
standing at the end of the road - that road was not going anywhere. Underneath
there was a rocky valley thousand feet deep. If he jumped into it, he would be
finished…and he could not return because it was a small road…the sound of
enemy’s horses was approaching fast. The King became restless. There seemed to
be no way.<br />
<br />
Then suddenly he saw the Diamond in his ring shining in the sun, and he
remembered the message hidden in the ring. He opened the diamond and read the
message. The message was - ” THIS TOO SHALL PASS”<br />
<br />
The King read it . Again read it. Suddenly something struck him- Yes ! This too
will pass. Only a few days ago, I was enjoying my kingdom. I was the mightiest
of all the Kings. Yet today, the Kingdom and all his pleasure have gone. I am
here trying to escape from enemies. Like those days of luxuries have gone, this
day of danger too will pass. A calm came on his face. He kept standing there.
The place where he was standing was full of natural beauty. He had never known
that such a beautiful place was also a part of his Kingdom.<br />
<br />
The revelation of the message had a great effect on him. He relaxed and forgot
about those following him. After a few minutes he realized that the noise of
the horses and the enemy coming was receding. They moved into some other part
of the mountains and were near him.<br />
<br />
The King was very brave. He reorganized his army and fought again. He defeated
the enemy and regained his empire. When he returned to his empire after
victory, he was received with much fanfare. The whole capital was rejoicing in
the victory.<br />
<br />
Everyone was in a festive mood. Flowers were being showered on King from every
house, from every corner. People were dancing and singing. For a moment King
said to himself,” I am one of the bravest and greatest King. It is not easy to
defeat me. With all the reception and celebration he saw an ego emerging in
him.<br />
<br />
Suddenly the Diamond of his ring flashed in the sunlight and reminded him of
the message. He open it and read it again: “THIS TOO SHALL PASS”.<br />
<br />
He became silent. His face went through a total change - from the egoist he
moved to a state of utter humbleness. If this too is going to pass, it is not
yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours. You are just a
watcher. Everything passes by. We are witnesses of all this. We are the
perceivers. Life comes and goes. Happiness comes and goes. Sorrow comes and
goes.<br />
<br />
Now as you have read this story, just sit silently and evaluate your own life.
This too will pass. Think of the moments of joy and victory in your life. Think
of the moment of Sorrow and defeat. Are they permanent ? They all come and pass
away.<br />
<br />
Life just passes away. There is nothing permanent in this world. Every thing
changes except the law of change. Think over it from your own perspective. You
have seen all the changes. You have survived all setbacks, all defeats and all
sorrows. All have passed away. The problems in the present, they too will pass
away. Because nothing remains forever. Joy and sorrow are the two faces of the
same coin. They both will pass away.<br />
<br />
You are just a witness of change. Experience it, understand it, and enjoy the
present moment - this too shall pass!</div>

One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to
explain evolution to the children.<br />
<br />
The teacher asked a little boy: “Tommy do you see the tree outside?”<br />
TOMMY: Yes.<br />
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?<br />
TOMMY: Yes.<br />
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.<br />
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.<br />
TEACHER: Did you see God?<br />
TOMMY: No.<br />
TEACHER: That’s my point. We can’t see God because he isn’t there. He doesn’t
exist.<br />
<br />
A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher
agreed and the little girl asked the boy: “Tommy, do you see the tree outside?”<br />
<br />
TOMMY: Yes.<br />
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?<br />
TOMMY: Yessssss (getting tired of the questions by this time).<br />
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?<br />
TOMMY: Yessssss<br />
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?<br />
TOMMY: Yes<br />
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?<br />
TOMMY: No<br />
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she must
not have one!<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A philosophy professor stood
before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began,
wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it
with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.<br />
<br />
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas
between the rocks. The students laughed.<br />
<br />
He asked his students again if the jar was full. They agreed that yes, it was.<br />
<br />
The professor then picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else.<br />
<br />
"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this is
your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your
health, your children - anything that is so important to you that if it were
lost, you would be nearly destroyed.<br />
<br />
The pebbles are the other things in life that matter, but on a smaller scale.
The pebbles represent things like your job, your house, your car. The sand is
everything else. The small stuff.<br />
<br />
If you put the sand or the pebbles into the jar first, there is no room for the
rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on
the small stuff, material things, you will never have room for the<br />
things that are truly most important.<br />
<br />
Pay attention to the things that are critical in your life.<br />
Play with your children.<br />
Take your partner out dancing.<br />
There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party
and fix the disposal.<br />
Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter.<br />
<br />
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand and pebbles.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
There once was a little boy who
wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed
his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of root beer and he started his
journey.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in
the park just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened
his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed
that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her a Twinkie. She gratefully
accepted it and smiled at him. Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to
see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Once again she smiled at him. The
boy was delighted ! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they
never said a word.<br />
<br />
As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but
before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old
woman and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever. When the boy
opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised
by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that
made you so happy?" He replied, "I had lunch with God." But
before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? She's got the
most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son
was stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, "Mother, what
did you do today that made you so happy?" She replied, "I ate
Twinkies in the park with God." But before her son responded, she added,
"You know, he's much younger than I expected."</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A rich man has four sons. As he
grows old, he decides to give his property to the son who would value the
wealth he had earned. He calls his four sons and gives them each five grains of
rice. He tells them that he shall ask for these grains at the end of 5 years
& he would give his property to the son who would value these grains the
most.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
The first son throws away the grains. He decides to show his father some other
grains when he would ask for them after 5 yrs, in anticipation that his father
would not be able to see the difference between the two sets of grains.<br />
<br />
The second son eats the grains. He too decides to show his father some other
grains when he would ask for them after 5 yrs, in anticipation that his father
would not be able to see the difference between the two sets of grains.<br />
<br />
The third son preserves these grains in a silver box and keeps the silver box
in the 'puja sthaan' at home, and offers prayers to the box while offering his
prayers to God for 5 yrs.<br />
<br />
The fourth son sows these grains and cultivates them in the backyard of his
house. They grow into crops during the harvest season. He keeps re sowing the
grains from these crops. In due course, he has a vast plot of land cultivated
with rice.<br />
<br />
As apparent from the above mentioned, at the end of 5 yrs, the father gives his
property to his fourth son, as he was the most deserving among his four sons.</div>

Moral of the Story: -</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
When you have anything little in your hands, look at opportunity to grow it.
Don't feel sad if you have less money today, know that you have it and you can
grow it.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A group of alumni, highly
established in their careers, got together to visit their old university
professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and
life. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with
a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass,
crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to
help themselves to the coffee.<br />
<br />
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:<br />
<br />
"If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up,
leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want
only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and
stress."<br />
<br />
"Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most
cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we
drink."<br />
<br />
"What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you
consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's
cups."<br />
<br />
"Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in
society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the
type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.<br />
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God
has provided us."<br />
<br />
God brews the coffee, not the cups... Enjoy your coffee!<br />
<br />
"The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the
best of everything."<br />
<br />
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.</div>

<h2 class="product_under_title" style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; margin: 0px; padding: 5px 0px 0px; width: 600px;">
</h2>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Monkey-hunters in India use a box
with an opening at the top, big enough for the monkey to slide its hand in.
Inside the box are nuts. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The monkey grabs the nuts and now
its hand becomes a fist. The monkey tries to get its hand out but the opening
is big enough for the hand to slide in, but too small for the first to come
out.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Now the monkey has a choice,
either to let go off the nuts and be free forever or hang on to the nuts and
get caught. Guess what it picks every time? You guessed it. He hangs on to the
nuts and gets caught.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
We are no different from monkeys.
We all hang on to some nuts that keep us from going forward in life. We keep
rationalizing by saying, "I cannot do this because..." and whatever
comes after "because" are the nuts that we are hanging on to which
are holding us back.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Successful people don't
rationalize. Two things determine if a person will be a success: Reasons and
Results. Reasons don't count while results do!</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
An elderly carpenter was ready to
retire. He told his employer - of his plans to leave the house building
business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended
family. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
He would miss the paycheck, but he wanted to retire. They could get by. The
contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just
one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but his heart was
not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials.
It was an unfortunate way to end his career.<br />
<br />
When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house,
the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. This is your house,
he said, my gift to you.<br />
<br />
What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house,
he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had
built none too well.<br />
<br />
So it is with us. If we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather
than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do
not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we
have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we
had realized that we would have done it differently.<br />
<br />
Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer
a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely.<br />
<br />
It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day
more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.<br />
<br />
The plaque on the wall says, Life is a do-it-yourself project.<br />
<br />
Your attitudes and the choices you make today will be your life tomorrow, build
it wisely.</div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A group of frogs were traveling
through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. All the other frogs
gathered around and said they would never get out. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit. When
they saw how deep the pit was, they told the unfortunate<br />
frogs to stop jumping out. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they
were as good as dead.<br />
<br />
Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and
simply gave up. He fell down and died.<br />
<br />
The other frog however continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the
crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and suffering and just die. But to
the surprise of one and all, he jumped even harder and finally did come out.<br />
<br />
When he got out, the other frogs asked him, "Why did you continue jumping?
Didn't you hear us?" It was shocking for them to know that the frog was
deaf and all the time he actually thought they were all encouraging him to get
out. He did not want to disappoint them and therefore did not give him up till
the end.<br />
<br />
This story teaches two lessons:<br />
There is the power of life & death in the tongue. An encouraging word to
someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.<br />
<br />
A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.<br />
<br />
Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power
of words... it is sometimes hard to understand. An encouraging word can go such
a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to
continue in difficult times.<br />
<br />
Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another. Be
special to others!</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A flood was threatening a small
town and everyone was leaving for safety except one man who said, "God
will save me. I have faith." </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
As the water level rose a jeep came to rescue him, the man refused, saying
"God will save me. I have faith." As the water level rose further, he
went up to the second storey, and a boat came to help him.<br />
<br />
Again he refused to go, replying, "God will save me. I have faith."
The water kept rising and the man climbed on to the roof. A helicopter came to
rescue him, but he said, "God will save me. I have faith." Well,
finally he drowned.<br />
<br />
When he reached his Maker he angrily questioned, "I had complete faith in
you. Why did you ignore my prayers and let me drown?" The Lord replied,
"Who do you think sent you the jeep, the boat, and the helicopter?"<br />
<br />
The only way to overcome the fatalistic attitude is to accept responsibility
and believe in the law of cause and effect rather than luck.<br />
<br />
It takes action, preparation and planning rather than waiting, wondering or
wishing, to accomplish anything in life.</div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
A farmer came into town and asked
the owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The restaurant
owner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
The farmer replied, There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs -
millions of them. They all croak all night long and they are about to make me
crazy! So the restaurant Owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer
would deliver frogs to the restaurant, five hundred at a time for the next
several weeks.<br />
<br />
The first week, the farmer returned to the restaurant looking rather sheepish,
with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, Well... where are all
the frogs. The farmer said, I was mistaken. There were only these two frogs in
the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!<br />
<br />
Next time you hear somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's
probably just a couple of noisy frogs. Also remember that problems always seem
bigger in the dark.<br />
<br />
Have you ever laid in your bed at night worrying about things which seem almost
overwhelming like a million frogs croaking. Chances are pretty good that when
the morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fuss
was about.</div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One beautiful spring day a red rose blossomed in a forest. Many kinds of trees and plants grew there. As the rose looked around, a pine tree nearby said, "What a beautiful flower. I wish I was that lovely." </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another tree said, "Dear pine, do not be sad, we can not have everything."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The rose turned its head and remarked, "It seems that I am the most beautiful plant in this forest." A sunflower raised its yellow head and asked, "Why do you say that? In this forest there are many beautiful plants. You are just one of them." </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The red rose replied, "I see everyone looking at me and admiring me." Then the rose looked at a cactus and said, "Look at that ugly plant full of thorns!" The pine tree said, "Red rose, what kind of talk is this? Who can say what beauty is you have thorns too."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The proud red rose looked angrily at the pine and said, "I thought you had good taste! You do not know what beauty is at all. You can not compare my thorns to that of the cactus."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What a proud flower, thought the trees.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The rose tried to move its roots away from the cactus, but it could not move. As the days passed, the red rose would look at the cactus and say insulting things, like "This plant is useless. How sorry I am to be his neighbor."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The cactus never got upset and he even tried to advise the rose, saying, "God did not create any form of life without a purpose."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Spring passed, and the weather became very warm. Life became difficult in the forest, as the plants and animals needed water and no rain fell. The red rose began to wilt. One day the rose saw sparrows stick their beaks into the cactus and then fly away, refreshed. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This was puzzling, and the red rose asked the pine tree what the birds were doing. The pine tree explained that "the birds got water from the cactus." "Does it not hurt when they make holes?" asked the rose.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Yes, but the cactus does not like to see any birds suffer," replied the pine.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The rose opened its eyes in wonder and said, "The cactus has water." "Yes you can also drink from it. The sparrow can bring water to you if you ask the cactus for help."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The red rose felt too ashamed of its past words and behavior to ask for water from the cactus, but then it finally did ask the cactus for help. The cactus kindly agreed and the birds filled their beaks with water and watered the rose's roots. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thus the rose learned a lesson and never judged anyone by their appearance again.</div>
